Fed Up with Lack of Food

0700-1030/49-63 degrees/partly cloudy/light and variable winds

A great day at the lake, which is filled with birds.  Everywhere one looks, birds are eminent.  There s a definite need for rain, and unless it is received within the month, the water table is going to be compromised.  Keep your fingers crossed for precipitation, as it is a great necessity.  If Boomer Lake loses much more water, it will be critical.

Today was a perfect day on the lake. Even though mornings are still a little cool, I think we'll be seeing more seasonable temperatures very soon.

Chilly overnights and rain have brought more birds in, and many are staying, even with the chill in the air.  Food and water are plentiful for them at Boomer Lake, so the influx of more birds will continue.  Enjoy them, and take care of them by providing black oil sunflower seeds at your feeders, and plenty of fresh water at the birdbath.  Please keep your birdbaths clean, too, in order to keep avian conjunctivitis at bay.

The past few days have been interesting, to say the least.  There are a number of breeding birds on the lake right now, which will only increase as the pendulum moves toward summer.
