Bell's Vireo

Northern Mockingbird
Male Baltimore Oriole
This material has been taken over the past week. We have shifted from the cooler springtime,
suddenly into the high gear of summer. This means that I am getting out even earlier, to try to
steer clear of the hotter temperatures. Most of the adults are parents, well underway with young,
and some of the first year birds are struggling with nest construction. At this juncture, most common
among the songbirds appear to be the Baltimore Oriole and Bell's Vireo, which is nearly in every
deciduous tree near the sidewalk. You will hear it before you see it, and it is very loud for a small
bird. Come join the fun, and tell your friends that Birdie sent you.
