                                                Sunwashed Dickcissel during early evening

                                                              Blue Damselfly

I was out during the early evening with temperatures hovering between 96 and 92 degrees.  With a black camera in front of my face, it was stifling, but it was worth being uncomfortable.  I consider these fairly decent shots, and I've been trying to capture the Dickcissel for weeks.  This bird likes to be at the tops of trees at the end of the day.  For those of you that are curious, it is related to both the Eastern and Western Meadowlark, but can't be seen everywhere.

                                                          Great Blue Heron

The American Goldfinches were a bonus on Monday evening.  My thoughts were that they were area residents, but now I am even closer to their area.  I don't believe that they are nesting at this time.

Not sure what these butterflies are, but it was interesting to get the pair

This was an interesting and priceless morning.  The weather was perfect, between 73 and 80 degrees F, and the birds were generally feeding.  My usual group was out and about and the butterflies were more prolific than usual.  Talk about a colorful day!  The youngsters are rapidly fledgling, and I saw a very young rabbit, but he/she was a lot faster than I was, and I am pretty quick on the draw.  I'll get a young marsh rabbit sooner or later.
