Very cloudy day that rained pre-dawn and rained again around 0800. Writer was not out long, and the Green Herons were staying close to base, likely due to weather conditions. The above photo was all that I could get in this time frame.

An adult was encouraging the young Green Herons to fledge, yet the hung close to the nest area.
Youngest was fearful and in the nest. The adult appeared to be withholding food to get the nestlings
to fledge. The furthest the little ones got was at the ends of branches where they could be observed with less twigs and leaves in the area.
The eldest nestling actually lost its footing this date, falling into the shallow water. The youngster soon recovered and quickly made it ashore.
