Boomer Lake Park is the hottest birding area in central Oklahoma. It boasts many species of birds throughout the year, some of which go to the Arctic Circle. This year has been especially good for many species that normally don't come into this area, and we have had several irruptions, including the Brown Thrasher.
Winter of 2012-2013 offered the Ross Goose. Spring showed a few American Golden Plover and Wilson's Phalarope.
