                                                         Great Egret in Flight

This was during the evening/partly cloudy/15 mph wind/96 to 94 degrees.  It pleased me to see a few more birds out during the evening than there has been.  It appears that the Purple Martins have left the area today.  Yesterday, there were at least a hundred of them clustered around on the telephone lines.  It was a beautiful evening with the sounds of silence permeated by the many cicadas, Canada Geese conversing in the background, and the call of the Dickcissel.  The golden silence allowed me to watch the above birds for a while and actually reflect upon their simple beauty in the waning light.  It was so pleasant to experience these wonderful moments alone.

  2. Hey, Leslie! I'm hoping to get to Texas one day for birding adventures, but I am in Oklahoma right now, which is close. Glad that you like the New Kids on the Block.
